Winners of 64th National Film Awards 2016 : Complete List | Winners from Malayalam Films

Winners List of 64th National Film Awards 2016 | Kasaav (Marathi)-Best Film,  Rajesh Mapuskar -best Director (Ventilator-Marathi), Akshay Kumar -Best Actor ( Rustom -Hindi), Surabhi C.M-Best Actress( Minnaminungu-Malayalam)

National Films Awards - the most prestigious film awards in India organised by directorate of film festival  for the best films in 2016 was declared on 6th April 2017 March 2016. Kasaav (Marathi) by Sumitra Bhave & Sunil Sukthankar has been named the best feature film in the 64th National Film awards. Best Director Award by Rajesh Mapuskar for Ventilator(Marathi) Actor Akshay Kumar won best actor award for for ‘the Hindi film ‘Rustom’ and Surabhi Lakshmi for the Malayalam film ‘Minnaminungu–the Firefly’ bagged best actress award.

There are 30 categories in the feature films segment and 22 in the non-feature films one. In a newly introduced category, Uttar Pradesh was declared the most film-friendly State while Jharkhand earned special mentions.

64th National Film Awards : Winners from Malayalam Film Industry

Maheshinte Prathikaram won the award for the best feature film in Malayalam (Producer: Dream Mill Cinemas and Entertainment Pvt.Ltd.;Director: Dileesh Pothan). Shyam Pukshar bagged award for the Best Screenplay (Original):for Maheshinte Prathikaaram. He won the same award at the Kerala State Film Awards 2016   as well.

Malayalam actress Surabhi won the best actor award for Minnaminungu.  Adish Praveen got best child actor award for his performance in  Malyalam Film Kunju Daivam.  Mohan Lal won special jury award for best actor for his performance in Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol, Janatha Garrage and Pullimurugan

Jayadevan Chakka Dath got Best Audiography - Sound Designer award for the malayalam film Kaadu Pookkunna Neram. Peter Hein won BEST Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) Pulimurugam (Malayalam). He was honoured for the same at the 19th Asianet Film awards 2017

Surabhi Lakshmi wins Best Actress Award at the 64th National Film Awards 2016

Surabhi Lakshmi winner of  Best Actress Award at the 64th National Film Awards 2016: Surabhi Lakshmi bagged the Best Actress award for her film ‘Minnaminungu’ at the 64th National Film Awards 2016. The awards were decided by a Jury with popular director Priyadarshan as the jury chairman.She was the winner of special award for best actress in 47th Kerala State Film Awards  for 2017 for the same movie.

Even though she lost the best actress award at the State Film Awards to Rajisha Vijayan, she made it at the National Level. She has won Film Critics Award for Second Best Actress in this year. Surabhi Lekshmi is the daughter of Andy and Radha from Calicut. She is married to Vipin Sudhakar (Photos).

Surabhi Lakshmi -Best actress at National Film Awards 2017Surabhi Lekshmi  hails from Kozhikodu is a trained dancer and theatre artist.  She is very popular as the character Pathumma, wife of Moosa,  in Media One serial M80 Moosa. Her unique sound and dialogue delivery in Caliccut accent were noted by the audience soon. She won best Comedy Actor award for  her role in M80 Moosa at the Flowers TV comedy Awards 2016She has acted in more than 20 Malayalam Films, advertisements and Malyalam Serials. She portrayed a main character in   K.K. Rajeev's malayalam serial Kathayile Rajakumari.  Surabh is now part of  surya Tv Television show Laughing Villa season 1 & 2 and  Media One comedy show M80 Mooosa.


Minnaminungu-the firefly, is a movie directed by Anil Thomas and written by Manoj Ramsingh. The main cast include Krishnan Balakrishnan, Surabhi Lakshmi, Balu Narayanan, Prem Prakash, Suresh Prem,Rebecca Santhosh etc.

Jury Chairman Priyadarshan conveyed that Surabhi showcased brilliant performance which is why recognition came her way. According to the jury Surabhi won the best actress award for "Showcasing her brilliance in portraying pain and ecstasy of a mother in a deplorable social condition". She is the fifth actress to win National Award in Malayalam after Sarada, Monisha, Shobhana and Meera Jasmine. Meera Jasmine was the last Malayalam actress to win the best actress National Award in 2004 for her performance in Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam

47th Kerala State Film Awards 2016-Winners List | 'Manhole' Best Film, Vinayakan Best Actor, Rajeesh Vijayan Best Actress

Winners list of Kerala State Film Awards for 2016 films |Kerala State Film Awards announced in 2017 |47th Kerala State Film Awards 2016 : Winners of 47th Kerala State Film Awards 2016 is declared on March 7, 2016. Minister of state for cinema AK Balan announced the awards at a press conferencein Trivandrum. The  awards were selected based on a list of 68 Malayalam films selected by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The 10 member jury will declared the awards in various categories based on 68 movies they have been have been watching five movies per day from February 21.

Jury : The winners were selected by 10-member jury headed by Odisha director A.K. Bir. The other jury members are directors Sundar Das,Priyanandan, Sudevan, yesteryear actress Shanthi Krishna,  PF Mathews, VT Murali, Arun Nambiar, Dr Meena T Pillai and Mahesh Panchu

Best Movie & Best Director : Manhole, directed by Vidhu Vincent won the awards for best film and best director award. This is the first time in the history of Malayalam cinema that a women director won these awards. Manhole is the first Malayalam film by a female director screened in the competition section of International Film Festival. Director Vidhu Vincent bagged two awards for her debut movie Manhole at the 21st International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), 2016.

The 19th season of Asianet Film Awards sponsored by Nirapara  was held on 20th Januaray 2017. These awards are given every year for artistic and technical excellence on  malaylam movies. Awards are presented in nearly 32 categories every year at the Asianet film awards for the movies released in 2016.

The function was held at at Adlux Convention Centre , Angamali ,Cochin. This much awaited event was visual treat to the viewers with stars adding glamour and glitz along with wonderful performance on stage by celebrities. Madhu, Mukesh were honored at the show. Winners List of 2nd Asianet Comedy Awards 2016

Winners of 2nd Asianet comedy Awards 2016 were announced on 17 November 2016 in a glittering star studded event at Adlux International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Karukutty, Angamaly, Kochi, India.

The show honored comedy talents from television and film fields. Comedy skits and dance by television and film starts added color to the show. Mammootty, Dileep, Jayaram were the special guests and they distributed the awards. Megna Vincent, Archana Susheelan, Sonu Satheesh kumar, Arya Rohit etc among the TV starts who preformed dance  the show while Jagadhish, Suraj Venjaramood, Ramesh Pisharody, Dharmajan, Mamukoya and Beena Antony entertained the guest with comedy shows

The winners of 9th Asianet Television Awards 2016 were declared in a glittering and star-studded function on 16 June 2016  at AdLux Convention Centre, Angamali, Cochin. The winners of Kerala State Television Awards 2015 have been announced by Kerala Chalachitra Academy on Friday, June 3, 2016.The awards were selected from the entries submitted for the award.

The winners of Kerala State TV award 2015 in the feature section were selected by the jury members including, Chairman Nemom Pushparaj, Sona Nair, Anil Thomas, Salam Bappu, VIjayakumar and CR Rajamohan. Winners of 8th Vayalar Rama Varma Film and Television Awards 2016

The winners of 8th Vayalar Ramavarama Awards for Movies and Television were announced on April 6, 2016 at Trivandrum. The awards were given to movies released during March 2015 to March 2016 and also to television programs aired during that period. A jury led by Sreekumaran Thambi as the chairman selected the awards. Other members of the jury include Poovachal Khader, Dr M.R Thamban, K.Chandrika, Balu Kiriyathu, Somasekharan Nair, Vayalar Madhavan Kutty, Sabeer Thirumala .

Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Nedumudi Venu were honoured with Chalachithra Rathna  and Vayalar Kalashretra awards, respectively, while Ramachandra Babu received award for over all contribution.   Malayalam movie  Su Su Vathmeekam directed by Renjith Sanker is selected as the best movie and Jayasurya bagged the best actor award. Winners of 63rd National Film Awards 2015: Complete List

National Films Awards - the most prestigious film awards in India organised by directorate of film festival  for the best films in 2015 was declared on 28 March 2016. S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus "Baahubali" has won the Best Film award at 63rd National Film Award. Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Actor award for his role in ‘Piku’while Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for her role in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns.” This is Amitabh Bachchan’s fourth national award whereas for Kangana this is the third one after  having won best actress for Queen (2014) and  for best supporting actress for Fashion (2008).

Most of the film Awards for feature films were bagged by Hindi films this year especially by "Bajirao Mastani" by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also won the best director award for the same.  "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" won the Popular Film award

There are 30 categories in the feature films segment and 22 in the non-feature films one. In a newly introduced category, Gujarat was declared the most film-friendly State while Uttar Pradesh and Kerala earned special mentions.

Pathmari by Salim Ahamed is selected as the best film in malayalam.  M.Jayachandran won the best music director award while actor Jayasurya got special mention as actor. 46th Kerala State Film Awards 2015 Winners List |Ozhivudivasathe Kali Best Film; Dulquar Salman & Parvathy best actors; Martin Prakkat Best Director

Winners of 46th Kerala State Film Awards 2016 is declared on March 1, 2016. The  awards were selected based on a list of 73 Malayalam films selected by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Minister Thriruvanjoor Radhakrishnan,the state Minister for Forest, Transport, Sports, Environment, and Cinema, anounced the winners in the press meet, which will be held in Trivandrum. This award is for the films released in 2015.  Charlie and Ennu Ninte Moideen bagged most of the awards at the Kerala State Film Awards. The detailed list are given below.

Jury : The winners were selected by a jury headed by filmmaker Mohan. The other jury members were George Kithu, AL Vijay, Sulakshana, Sharath, B R Prasad, Venugopal, Premchand, Dr Soman, and CR Rajmohan.

Best Movie :
 Ozhivudivasathe Kali (An Off-Day Game), directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan won the best film award 2015.This movie is the adaptation of a short story by   Unni R . The story is about the present socio political mindset of Kerala in crisply narrated dramatic events. Even though the the plot is too local, the undercurrents break that limitation to become universal.  Sanalkumar Sasidharan is the winner of Best Director for Oraalppokkam at the 46th Kerala State film awards 2015

Manoj Kana’s Amoeba, based on the travails of Endosulphan victims in Kasargode district, won the award for the second best film.

Best Director : Martin Prakkat won the award for the Best Director for Charlie

Best Actor and Actress: Dulquer Salmaan won the Best Actor award for his performance in Charlie, while Parvathy won the Best Actress for her contrasting performances in Charlie and Ennu Ninte Moideen. Actor Jayasurya won the special Jury award for his performance in Su Sundi Valmeekam

Charlie and Ennu ninte moideen bagged most of the awards at 47th Kerala State Film Awards

Malayalam Movie Charlie won eight awards including best director, best actor and best actor in addition to other technical awards.

Ennu Ninte Moideen directed by R.S.Vimal won the award for the Best Popular Film.  Other awards shared by this movie are for best actress, best cinematography, best lyrics, best music director, best singer (see the list below) Ennu ninte Moideen was the winner of many awards at Asianet film awards 2016 and Vanitha film awards 2016 . But it was not repeated in Kerala State Awards.

Winners of Vanitha Film Awards 2016 | Show and Telecast Details

The winners of Vanitha Film Awards 2016  were declared. The popular Cera Vanitha Film Awards powered by Josco Jewellers was announced  on 16 February 2016. The award event will be held on February 21st 2016, at the sports hub( Greenfield Stadium) in Karyavarttom Trivandrum.

The awards in various categories for movies released in 2015 were made based on polls conducted by Vanitha and Malayalam Manaorama . Total of 22 Awards were distributed. The award ceremony was attended by film personalities in India. Life time achievement award in 2016 were given to veteran actress KPAC Lalitha. The movie Ennu ninte moideen bagged awards for Best Movie, Best Actor (Prithviraj) and best actress (Parvathi).  This  movie also won Asianet film awards 2016.
