: Winners of 49th Kerala State Film Awards 2018 will be announced on February 278th, 2019 by Minister of state for cinema AK Balan at a press conference in Trivandrum. The awards were selected based on a list of 20 Malayalam films selected by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy to the finale. The 10 member jury will declared the awards in various categories from 104 movies submitted for the award. Kerala State Film Award is to honour great artists and movies of the state
The winners were selected by 10-member jury headed by headed by screenwriter-director Kumar Shahani. The other members of the jury were Sherry Govindan, George Joseph, K G Jayan, Mohandas, Vijayakrishnan, Biju Sukumaran, Berny-Ignatius and Navya Nair among others.
, directed by Shareef Easa, bagged the top honour of the Best Film award, while filmmaker Shyamaprasad took home Best Director award for his film
:Actor Jayasurya, won the Best Actor award for his riveting performance for both Njan Marykutty and Captain. He shared the award with Soubin Shahir, who featured in lead role in Sudani from Nigeria. Nimisha Sajayan won the Best Actress award for her performance in Chola and Oru Kuprasidha Payyan.
