Actress Muktha married Rinku Tomy - Photos

Actress Muktha Elsa George (Bhanu) married Rinku Tomy, the younger brother of popular singer Rimy Tomy at St.George Forane Church, Edapally, Eranakulam on Sunday, 30th of August 2015. The marriage ceremony was attended by family members, relatives and close friends of the bride and the groom.

For wedding ceremony, Muktha was in traditional Syrian Christian Chatta and Mundu while Rinky Tomy opted for Shirt and Mundu  matching Muktha's dress. The marriage function also witnessed, traditional christian dance form, Margam Kali.

The simple marriage was followed by a grand and colorful wedding reception at Gokulam Park in Kochi. For the glittering event Muktha wore silk Sari and gold ornaments, while Rinku Tomy opted for a off-white suit. The reception was attended by many celebrities from the cine and television industry in addition to friends and relatives from both sides.

Winners of 63rd Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2015 (Kerala Vallamkali)

The 63rd Nehru Trophy boat race 2015(Vallamkali) was conducted on Saturday, 8 August 2015 (8-8-2015) at Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha.  Jawahar Thayankari of  Kumarakom Vembanad Boat Club helmed by Jameskutty Jacob are the winners of Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2015. Mahadevikkattil boat came in second place, Sree Ganesh finished third, followed by St Pius 10th

Nehru Trophy is the most prestigious snake boat race competition in Kerala. Snake boats are called as Chundan Vallam in Kerala. The Nehru Trophy boat race marks the launching of Onam festivities in Kerala.

The first Nehru Trophy Boat Race was held in 1952 to honour then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. In that boat race Nadubhagam Chundan stood first. Panditji was so fascinated and thrilled by the boat race. After returning to Delhi in December 1952, Nehru donated a Silver Trophy, which is a replica of a snake boat placed on a wooden abacus.The trophy bears the following inscription above his signature "To the winners of the boat race which is a unique feature of community life in Travancore Cochin. ". This trophy later came to be known as Nehru Trophy, and in fond memory of great Panditji, the people of Alappuzha, Venice of East,in Kerala celebrate the Nehru Trophy Boat Race every year.
In 2014,  Kainakary United Boat Club's Champakkulam Chundan won the 62nd Nehru Trophy Boat Race. In its history of boat race spanning from 1952 to 2015,  Karichal Chundan stand first with the highest number of victories (13 times), followed by Champakulam (10 times.

Jawahar Thayankari debuted in 1977 and won their first victory in the same year. They also won it 1978,1985 and 2010. They came second in the Nehru trophy boat race in 2013.

In addition to snake boat race, there are various categories for Nehru trophy boat race including Churulan Vallam, Iruttukuthy Vallam, Odi Vallam, Veppu Vallam (Vaipu Vallam), Vadakkanody Vallam , Kochu Vallam etc .

Raree Rareeram Raro Season 2 on Asianet Plus to Start on 15 August 2015

Asianet Plus channel is all set to launch the season 2 of their mother and kids show Raree Rareeram Raro. The show is for mothers of Babies/Kids in the age group of 3 months to 3 years.  Official inauguration of the show was done by actress Kaviyoor Ponnamma along with Singer Venugopal, judges of Raree Rareeram Raro and other dignitaries.

Earlier this year, Asianet has invited entries to participate in Raree Rareeram Raro show The audition details of Raree Rareeram Raro 2 were earlier posted here.

Now it is the time to watch the show on Asianet Plus. The first episode of the show will be launched on 15 August 2015, Saturday  at 800 PM on Asianet Plus . Actress Swasika Vijay  is shown as the anchor in the promos of the show. Malayalam Channels Asianet and Mazhavil Manorama launched new full HD channels.

Asianet lauched the first  Malayalam High definition  (HD) TV channel on 13th August 2015 at 6:00 PM. They offer high definition visual quality and Dolby 5.1 sound quality to enhance the viewing experience of their audiences. This full HD channel is now available with Tata Sky and will soon become available at other cable and DTH Service providers

Mazhavil Manorama launched their high definition channel on 14 August 2015. This channel launched on 31 October 2011 was already telecasting programs shot in HD cameras. They became very popular and reached top 2 position in BARC ratings in shorter time span.

In general, HD channels telecast the same programs of the main SD channels, but in high definition. Soon other malayalam channels like Surya will launch HD channels.

Rinku is the son of late Tomy Joseph and Rani from Paala in Kottayam district. He is the younger brother of popular singer and anchor Rimi Tomy. Rinku is currently running an event management company(DNR events) in Kochi

Muktha is the younger daughter of George and Sally. Her sister Doshy George is married and settled. Mutha began her acting career in a very young age with Lal Jose movie Achanurangatha Veedu. Her mother Seline Thottumkal was a doctor.She debuted in a Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, at the age of 15. It was followed by M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi ) in both Tamil and Teligu languages. The film which provided the breakthrough for Asin was Ghajini with actor Surya. This movie was remade into Hindi movie with same name with Amir Khan in the lead role. Following its success she acted in many Hindi movie. So far, she has acted in  25 movies, most of them were box office hits making her one of the most successful actress in India. Asin's fiancee Rahul Sharma co-founded Micromax in 2000, and also founded the ‘Yu’ brand in India known for its Xiaomi-like online model. The marriage of Asin with Rahul Sharma came as a surprise to everyone.In an interview given to a top news paper she opened up for the first time on her relationship. Asin says 'Rahul and I have been together for almost four years. I will get married by the end of the year'.

On a question on how she met Rahul, she said that her story is eerily similar to the story of my film Ghajini. 'Rahul and I first met at the private airport of Mumbai as I was going to another country for work with Akshay Kumar for the promotions of Housefull 2. He was very simple and down-to-earth and that quality stuck with me.' It was his co-star Akshay kumar who was instrumental in paving a way to both of them. He introduced her to Rahul and told her that 'I think you two will be good for each other'. Asin thought is as a joke as 'Akshay is family for us and somehow, has a good sense of people so he sensed that similarity between Rahul and me'.

Asin is quoted as saying that 'after our first meeting and having spoken over phone a few times Rahul came and met my parents and expressed his intention to them'. Asin found that extremely gentlemanly and with her parents permission they started to get to know each other'.

She is now very much in love and is impressed with Rahul. She is praising him throughout the interview as 'he is very selfless and outstandingly secure and I feel that's pure love, the rest is selfishness. He has no 'I' in him, it's all about 'You' with him. Throughout the relationship, his sole concern is my happiness.'He has clarity of thought, vision and an opinion. Kerala State Film Awards 2015 Winners list| Ottal- Best Film; Sanalkumar Sasidharan-Best Director

Winners of Kerala State Film Awards 2015 are given below. Kerala State Film Awards for the films released in 2014 was announced on Monday 10 August 2015. The  awards were selected based on a list of 70 Malayalam films selected by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Minister Thriruvanjoor Radhakrishnan announced the winners in the press meet, which was held in Trivandrum.

Jayaraj's Ottal won the best film Award. Best actor award was shared by Nivin Pauly and Sudev Nair. Nazriya Nazim received best actress award for her performance in Om Shanti Osana and Bangalore Days.

They have already announced payasam mela, a cooking completion. Now, it is time to add more colors in the form of Pookkalam (floral carpet). Kalyana Sougandhikam is a new serial launched on Malayalam Channel Asianet on 3rd August 2015 This family drama is aired every Monday to Friday at 6:30-7:00 PM only on Asianet.  Kalyana Sougandhikam Serial is produced under the banner of Bhoomichithra and directed by  Dr S. Janardhanan. He is the director of malayalam movies Mahasamudram and Sahasram and many TV serials. Padasaram was his previous serial telecasted on Asianet.

Story of Kalyana Sougandikam Serial : Kalyana Sougandikam serials tells the story of two close friends, Sreebala and Arya and their families. Ajayan and Murali are their brothers. To add more depth in their friendship, their Parents Devan and Thambi decide for a mutual marriage.  They decide the wedding between Sreebala and Ajayan and that between Arya and Murali. Uthara is the younger daughter of Devan and younger sister of Sreebala. Sreebala is a chronic epilepsy patient. This fact was unknown to Thambi's family. Due to this on marriage day, disaster came in the form of fits to Sreebala, making Thambi's son didn't marry her. So Sreebala's father Devan force her to marry Mohanan the son of a maid. All these resulted in lot of problems . Because of these events Sreebala's and Arya's friendship takes a different turn .

The role of heroine Sreebala is portrayed by actress and model Nithu Thomas. She is also acting currently in Kairali Tv Serial Manasa Maina.
