Mouna Ragam -Tamil Serial on Star Vijay TV Starts on 24th April 2017

Mouna Ragam is a new Tamil Television Serial on Star Vijay (Vijay TV). The new musical family drama will be launched on 24th April 2017 at 7:30 PM. The new tele-series will be telecasted every Monday to Friday at 7:00 PM

Mouna Ragam is the remake of Telugu serial 'Koyilamma (also referred as Koilamma)' on Maa TV. The story is about the girl Sakthi and her music Journey . The malayalam version of this serial is aired as Vanambadi on Malayalam entertainment Channel Asianet. The musical score of Mounaragam is done by music director M Jayachandran. He is also the music director Vanambadi serial.

Story/Theme: Mouna Ragam tells the story of the journey of a seven year old singing prodigy Sakthi. She lives with her mom under the care of her uncle and aunt. Little Sakthi has faced many questions on her father and she came to her father, an established singer Karthik Krishna, left her mother. She inherited the music talent from her father. She can sing any tune, learn any music and find rhythm from any noise. After the death of her mother, Sakthi decides to fulfill her mother's dream. Will she succeed?

Actor Munshi Venu passed away

Actor Munshi Venu (63) passed away at a at a palliative care centre at Chalakudy, Thrissur, following kidney failure on Thursday, April 13, 2017.  He was suffering from kidney-related ailment and were undergoing treatment. He hails from Thiruvananthapuram and was unmarried and was living alone in a lodge in Chalakudy for the past 10 years.

Actor Munshi Venu (Venu Narayanan) is known for his role in Asianet’s social satire television show ‘Munshi’ as a panchayath member. The show fetched his roels in television serials and movies. Following the success of Munshi, he debuted as malayalm move actor in director Kamal's movie Pachakuthiara starring Dileep  in lead role.

National Films Awards - the most prestigious film awards in India organised by directorate of film festival  for the best films in 2016 was declared on 6th April 2017 March 2016. Kasaav (Marathi) by Sumitra Bhave & Sunil Sukthankar has been named the best feature film in the 64th National Film awards. Best Director Award by Rajesh Mapuskar for Ventilator(Marathi) Actor Akshay Kumar won best actor award for for ‘the Hindi film ‘Rustom’ and Surabhi Lakshmi for the Malayalam film ‘Minnaminungu–the Firefly’ bagged best actress award.

There are 30 categories in the feature films segment and 22 in the non-feature films one. In a newly introduced category, Uttar Pradesh was declared the most film-friendly State while Jharkhand earned special mentions.
