Mahabharatham: Last Episode of malayalam serial aired on 16 October 2014 on Asianet

The climax episode of the popular malayalam epic serial Mahabharatham will be telecasted on 16 October 2014 at 6.30 PM. This will be the 267 th episode of the serial.

The serial was well built with colorful sets, a good cast and crew and direction. Actors and Actress of Mahabharatham Serial became very popular among audiences.

Final episode of Mahabharatham Serial showed the coronation of Youdhishtiran as the King of Hasthinapur after the end of Kurukshethra War.

Knowing that  Krishna is going to place crown on Yudhistira’s head,  Gandhari, the mother of Kauravas,  curses him for playing a key role in the death of her 100 sons and allowing the destructive war to happen and for. She declares that even Krishna’s clan, Yadavas will be wiped off Earth in a similar way. Krishnan accepts the curse and consoles Gandhari. Krishna says the whole Aryavartha is united due to this war and the people over the region will have the same rule and justice.  He also added that till the end of humanity, people with rember the story of Mahabharatham and the lesson it provides -the victory of Dharma over Adharma.The serial ends with the crowning of samrat Yundhishira with Draupathi on his side as the Queen of the empire.

 A new serial  Karuthamuthu  will be launched on 20 th October 2014 at 630 PM and take the time slot of Mahabharatham.

Vodafone Thakadhimi on Asianet | Dance Reality show

Asianet TV's Thakadhimi sponsored by Vodafone was one of the first and popular dance reality show in Malayalam television. The first Season of this dance-based talent hunt and reality show on Asianet was held in 2007-2008 for participants in the age group 15- 30 years.

 Out of 10000 applications received from many Indian cities and foreign countries,only 70 candidates were selected. In the audition round, each participant has been given three performances and they are selected or put on the waiting list, on the spot according to their performance. After the first round of auditions only 36 candidates were selected for the next rounds by the jury comprised of Vineeth (famous actor and dancer), Gopika Varma (dancer and Mohiniyattam expert) and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy (dancer and actress). Playback singer Anoop Shanker and Aishwrya Ajit hosted the show.


 Vodafone Thakadhimi on Asianet was launched on 13 October 2007 at 830 PM. Inauguration of the show was done by the judges. The dance show was aired every Saturdays and Sunday at 830 PM. To test the dancing prowess of the contestants in areas such as choreography, expressions, technical and artistic aspects, various rounds such as classical, semi-classical, cinematic, rap, ‘Dance with a star’ were made.

The grand finale of the show was held on 22 June, 2008. Along with the permanent judges, Brinda master was one of the judges in its final.  Famous actress Jayapura was the chief guest of the show. The winners of the show were announced by Jayaprada. Gayathri Govind from Trivandrum won the prestigious Asianet Vodafone Thakadhimi in its Mega final . The dancer won a fabulous prize worth rupees 45 lakhs.  Akhila Sasidharan, Jobin George and Sarath Nair won the second, third and fourth places, respectively. Gaythri faced maximum challenge from Akhila, who was the favourite of many people. The mark difference between them was just one mark. Aswamedham 2014 Season By GS Pradeep on Kairali TV to begin on 6 October 2014

Aswamedham, the reverse quiz show on Kairali will be launched on October 6, 2014. The new season is produced by Santhosh Pali. Grand Master G.S. Pradeep is presenting this show. Kairali started the game show Ashwamedham in 2002, it completed 500 episodes in the 1st season and entered Limca Book of Records.

Actor Anoop Menon's Marriage plans revealed

Malayalam Actor , script writter  and lyricist Anoop Menon recently revealed in an interview that he will get married to some one who has no connection with film industry. He plans to get married within an year.


The 38 year -old actor entered the tinsel town when he was 26 years old through the movie Kattu chembakam.


He has acted in many malayalam TV serials and in more than 50 films. He has written scripts for many movies including Pakal nakshathrangal, Beautiful etc .

His upcoming movies are She Taxi with Kavya Madhavan, Pavada with Shobhana & Prithviraj and Dolphins starring Suresh Gopi.


Earlier there was gossips on his marriage with actress Bhavana, his co-star in the movie Angry babies. But both of them denied all the rumours and confirmed that they are just friends.

First Images of Mars from Mangalyaan(MOM) and MAVEN Released

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s   Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) has successfully reached Mars Orbit on September 24, 2014.  The main objective of this project was to reach Mars and then explore Mar's Atmosphere.


Milestones of this mission

•  India is the  first country in the world to reach Mars in its first attempt.
•  India is the fourth country to reach Mars following US, Europe and Russia
•  India becomes the only Asian country to reach Mars
•  MOM cost $74 million , it is one-ninth of the cost of NASA's $671 million Maven mission, which also put its spacecraft into Mars orbit this week (21 September 2014)

Following the success of the mission, MOM captured the images of the Mars taken from MOM . ISRO released  the first images of Mars. They are given below.

MAVEN Spacecraft Returns First Mars Observations

 NASA’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) spacecraft has obtained its first observations of the extended upper atmosphere surrounding Mars.

The Imaging Ultraviolet Spectrograph (IUVS) instrument obtained these false-color images eight hours after the successful completion of Mars orbit insertion by the spacecraft at 10:24 p.m. EDT Sunday, Sept. 21, after a 10-month journey.

Oscars : 'Liar's Dice' by Geethu Mohandas is India's official entry for the best foreign language film

National Award winning Hindi Film ' Lias Dice' will be India's offical entry to the Oscars for the best film in foreign language category at the 87th Academy Awards. Liar's Dice, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapa, tells the story of a young mother who takes her daughter to Delhi in search of her missing husband.


'Liar's Dice'  has been chosen by a 12-member jury appointed by the Film Federation of India , and out of a record number of 30 shortlisted films. The film is India's Official Entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the 87th Academy Awards scheduled to take place on February 22, 2015.

This movie directed by Malayalam actress Geethu Mohandas has won two awards at the 61st National Film Awards 2013-Best Actress for Geetanjali Thapa and Best Cinematography for Rajeev Ravi.

'Liar's Dice' is Geethu Mohandas's directorial venture. She she had previously made short film Kelkkunndo in 2008, which received wide acclaim and awards including  National Film Award in the  Special Jury Award / Special Mention (Non-Feature Film).

'Liar's Dice'  had its world premiere at the 2013 Mumbai Film Festival in October 2013, where it took part in the Indian competition section. Next, it was selected for screening at the Sundance Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam. It won a special jury award at Sofia International Film Festival
