Malayali Veettamma on Malayalam Channel Flowers TV is a new reality show to showcase the talents of wife. Flowers TV is showing promos since its announcement with a theme 'Salute Motherhood and Celebrate it'. The show will start on 24th December 2016 at 9:00. Malayatti Veettamma will be aired every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 Pm. The full official videos will be available from flowers TV youtube channel after the telecast of each episode.

The new TV show will feature a bunch of adorable kerala home makers. The show highlight the contribution of these home makers to their home and society and trying to find new sets of parameters to define a perfet Malayali Veettamma

The promos Malayali Vettamma was around for a while with a surprise news as delivered by actress Miya. The surprise is the winner of this talent show for home makeers will receive two bumber prizes (1) Innova Car (2) a full furnished flat worth 1 crore by Confident group.

Actor Jagannadha Varma passed away

K N Jagannatha Varma(77), veteran actor in Malayalam Movies and Television serials passed away on Tuesday 20 December 2016 in a private hospital in Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram. He is admitted to the hospital due to prolonged pneumonia. His last rites and funeral were held in the premises of his ancestral home Kattunkal Kovilakam at Varanadu in Cherthala.

He is survived by his wife Shanta Varama, son Manu Varama and daughter Priya Varma. His daughter Priya is married to Malayalam movie director Viji Thampi.

Jagannatha Varma retired from Kerala Police as Superintendent of police and is also an accomplished Kathakali artist. He was also a percussionist, learned the art from Kalamandalam Raman Namboothiri. He made his 'arangetram' as Thayambaka artist at the age of 74 and loved to devote time to the instrument.

Jaganantha Varma debuted as an actor with movie Mattoli and was part of nearly in 190 films and many television serials. New Delhi, Lelam, Pathram, Nakshatrangale Sakshi, Sughamo Devi, Ee Thanuthe Veluppan Kalathu, No 20 Madras Mail etc are among his hit movies. He is known for aristocratic role and almost type casted in the roles of police officer, judge, or bureaucrat. He last acted in Malayala Manorama serial Mangalyapattu.

Sanvi loses her mother Deepa in an young age and is devastated when her father remarries.  It then that Deepa protects Sanvi from troubles by living inside the doll in the form of a spirit.  Rekha who is deeply in love with both Surya and his money. Rekha conspires with her siblings to kill Sanvi . The story is a battle between the spirit and Rekha. Neeli ultimately tells the love and bonding of a mother and daughter.

Manhole Malayalam film by Vidhu Vincent wins awards at IFFK 2016

Manhole is the first Malayalam film by a female director screened in the competition section of International Film Festival. Journalist turned film director Vidhu Vincent bagged two awards for her debut movie Manhole at the 21st International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), 2016.

The awards include 'The Silver Crow Pheasant Award' [Rajatha chakoram] for the Best Debut Director and a cash prize of INR 3 lakhs.'Manhole" also won  the 'FIPRESCI Award'for the 'Best Malayalam Film'. The film tells the story of manual scavengers, section of people disowned by society. According to the international jury at IFFK, the film directed Vidhu 'expressed an everyday unnoticed social issue in a simple and important, yet a powerful visual image narrative'a and 'we find a true cinema potential in the director and look forward for her future works'.

FIPRESCI Award is 'for the raw reality with which the film sheds light on the persistent inhumanity of manual scavengers in India, despite its being legally banned, in a cinematically eloquent manner'. Kammattipadam by Rajeev Ravi won the NETPAC award at IFFK 2016 for the best Malayalam film. CLASH (Eshtebak) by Director Mohamed Diab won suvarna chakaoram for the best film and the best director award is bagged by YesimUstaoglu for CLAIR OBSCUR (Tereddüt).

Vidhu Vincent is also the winner of  Kerala State Television Awards 2015 for the short film Nadakanthaym on Media one. Vidhu Vincent earlier made a documentary on a topic related to Manhole named 'Vrithiyude Jaathi'. She also plans to publish an book Daivam Olivil Poya Naalukal- an expanded version of the topic.
