Winners of 8th Vayalar Rama Varma Film and Television Awards 2016

The winners of 8th Vayalar Ramavarama Awards for Movies and Television were announced on April 6, 2016 at Trivandrum. The awards were given to movies released during March 2015 to March 2016 and also to television programs aired during that period. A jury led by Sreekumaran Thambi as the chairman selected the awards. Other members of the jury include Poovachal Khader, Dr M.R Thamban, K.Chandrika, Balu Kiriyathu, Somasekharan Nair, Vayalar Madhavan Kutty, Sabeer Thirumala .

Kaviyoor Ponnamma and Nedumudi Venu were honoured with Chalachithra Rathna  and Vayalar Kalashretra awards, respectively, while Ramachandra Babu received award for over all contribution.   Malayalam movie  Su Su Vathmeekam directed by Renjith Sanker is selected as the best movie and Jayasurya bagged the best actor award. Actress Priyanka won best actress award for the movie Jalam. The National Film Award 2015 winners, music director M Jayachandran and Prof Aliyar will also be felicitated at the award ceremony schedules in July 2016. Nyla Usha to host Malayalam Game show Minute to Win it on Mazhavil Manorama

Nyla Usha is the anchor of the brand new game show 'Minute to win it' on Malayalam Channel Mazhavil Manorama.  The channel picked actress, model and Radiao Jocky  Nyla Usha to host the reality show. Minute to Win it is the Malayalam adaptation of International game show with the same name. This  new game will be launched on April 9, 2016 at 9:00 PM.

Nyla Usha is the daughter of Gopakumar and Usha Kumari. After completing her studies at Holy Angel's Convent, and All Saints College, Trivandrum, Kerala, she moved to Dubai, UAE in 2004 to join the radio station Hit 96.7 where she currently works as a radio jockey. Nyla got married to Rona Rajan in 2007 and they have a son named Aarnav.

Nyla Usha became familar face to malayalm audience after her debut as an actress through Mamootty starrer, Kunjanathante Kada. Her latest movie is National Award winning movie Pathmari by Salim Ahamed, where she appeared in a cameo role. She has also acted in Punaylan Agarbathis, Gangster and Fireman are her other malayalam movies. She won Asiavision Award for Best Debutant Actress Kunjananthante Kada in 2013 and Masala Award for Best RJ in 2012. Now it is her turn to show case her talent on malayalam Television show. 2

Minute to Win it will have 82 episodes and it is the Malayalam version of  popular game show that run successfully in 60+ countries already. Mazhavil Manorma channel is all set to launch this new game show in partnership with Endemol Shine. The first season will span over a period that cover  festive seasons of like Vishu, Ramzan, Onam and Christmas and include celebrities as the contestants. It is a game show where the contestants take part in a series of 60-second (1-minute) challenges that use objects that are commonly available around house.The contestant is needed to complete a certain level with 60-seconds time period and need to complete each and every levels to reach the Top of Money Tree with Three Lives. The winner of the show will be awarded Rs.10 Lakh Rupees as cash prize.

Climax Episode of Kalyana Soundandikam Serial on April 8th, 2016

Malayalam Serial Kalyana Sougandikam on Asianet,the popular Malayalam Channels has reached its climax. The final episode of Kalyana Sougandhikam will be telecasted on 8 April at 6.30 PM. This will be the 177 th episode of the serial.

The tele show Kalyana Sougandikam serials tells the story of two close friends, Sreebala and Arya and their families. Ajayan and Murali are their brothers. To add more depth in their friendship, their Parents Devan and Thambi decide for a mutual marriage. However,  Sreebala was forced to marry Mohanan. Malayalam actress Sarayu got engaged to associate director Sanal V Devan on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Thripunithara in Ernakulam District of Kerala. The simple traditional engagement ceremony was a family affair attended by close friends and relatives only. She later anounced her marriage with Sanal through her social media page as "Happy to announce that I got engaged to my best friend Sanal V Devan,and we apologise for the late note..." along with engagement photos. Sanal has worked as assistant director of malayalam films like Varsham, Life of Josutty and Jilebi. Sarayu and Sanal came to know each other through the movie Varsham, the first movie project of Sanal. Varsham starring Mammootty and Asha Sharath in lead roles was directed by Renjith Sanker. Eventually they became best friends and decided to get married with the blessings of their family members

Actress Sarayu to marry assistant director Sanal V Devan

Sarayu the only child of  Mohan  from Ernakulam & Uma from Kannur.  She did her graduation on BA Literature at Maharajas College, Ernakulam. She is currently doing her post graduate degree in Literature from Annamalai University.  Sarayu started her journey as movie actress by doing minor roles in Chkkaramuthu(2006), Veruthe Alla Bharaya(2006) and Sultan. She debuted as heroine in Kappal Muthalali (2009). So far she acted in more than 40 Malayalam Films and two Tamil Movies.She has also directed, produced and acted, in her own short film, Pachha in Malayalam.  Sarayu also acted in Malayalam Television serials including Velankani Mathavu (Surya TV) Manaporutham (Surya TV), Eeran Nilavu (Flowers TV). Currently she is acting as heroine of  Earan Nilavu serial. She has also appeared in many advertisements and television shows. Sarayu is also a drained dancer.
