Moonumani is a malayalam mega serial on Flowers TV. The new serial Moonnumani is among the first list of serials along with the launching of  new Malayalam entertainment channel Flowers TV  on 12 February 2015. The teledrama is produced under  the banner Sandra Communications and directed by Baiju Devaraj, the directer of Surya TV hit serial Sarayu. Moonnumani is being telecasted every Monday to Friday at 7:00-7:30 PM.

Actress Sreelaya as Moonumani (Kuttymani) -the title character of serial: Actress Sreelaya is heroine of the serial. She debuted as a television actress through Mazhavil Manorama serial  Bhagyadevatha.  This is her second serial after the success of Bhagyadevatha. Popular Malayalam actress Kalaranjini and Actor T.P. Madhavan play the role of her parents in this serial. Actress Sethulekshmi gives life to the character of grandmother in this serial.  Other actors include Meera Krisha and new comers Preetha Pradeep, Ajay Thomas, Niranjan Nayar and Santhosh Sasidharan etc.

Story of Moonumani Serial : The story revolves round the members of Vayaloram Veedu lead by Achyutha Kurup and Sharadamma. They have two sons (Balan and Ravi) and one daughter. Moonumani, their beloved daughter is of 22  years, but have a mental growth of a 5 year old. Her brother Balan and Ravi got married to Seetha and Mathikala. Unfortunately, their father dies before their marriage in an accident. This makes Moonumani's life becomes more drastic.  Due to the pressure of her relatives  she is married to a driver. But the twist in the story is  the driver is ex-lover of her brother Ravi's wife Mathikala. What happens next ?

This is the remake of popular hindi serial Diya Aur Baati Hum broadcasted on Star Plus.


In this serial Gayathri plays the role of heroine Deepthi, wife of Sooraj portrayed by Vivek Gopan. Deepthi belong to a middle class family ended up in a marriage relation with Sooraj under strained circumstances. But her dream is to became an IPS officer. The story about the ups and downs in her life on her path to achieve the dream by the support of  her husband. Gayathri's performance as the bold and beautiful Deepthi has been well received by the audience.   Her popularity as an actress is evident from her facebook likes and many features on her appeared on leading national level and Malayalam news papers and magazines.

She took leave for a time for pursuing acting career.  She was very active in extracurricular activities during her school days and won prize for the best actress in state school youth festival. She completed graduation in communication english and then took MBA. Even though she was keen to take up acting offers her parents were not much supportive of that idea.  She is very grateful to her husband and mother in law for encouraging and supporting her acting career.

Actress Muktha Elsa George (Bhanu) married Rinku Tomy, the younger brother of popular singer Rimy Tomy at St.George Forane Church, Edapally, Eranakulam on Sunday, 30th of August 2015. The marriage ceremony was attended by family members, relatives and close friends of the bride and the groom.

For wedding ceremony, Muktha was in traditional Syrian Christian Chatta and Mundu while Rinky Tomy opted for Shirt and Mundu  matching Muktha's dress. The marriage function also witnessed, traditional christian dance form, Margam Kali.

The simple marriage was followed by a grand and colorful wedding reception at Gokulam Park in Kochi. For the glittering event Muktha wore silk Sari and gold ornaments, while Rinku Tomy opted for a off-white suit. The reception was attended by many celebrities from the cine and television industry in addition to friends and relatives from both sides.

Winners of 63rd Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2015 (Kerala Vallamkali)

The 63rd Nehru Trophy boat race 2015(Vallamkali) was conducted on Saturday, 8 August 2015 (8-8-2015) at Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha.  Jawahar Thayankari of  Kumarakom Vembanad Boat Club helmed by Jameskutty Jacob are the winners of Nehru Trophy Boat Race 2015. Mahadevikkattil boat came in second place, Sree Ganesh finished third, followed by St Pius 10th

Nehru Trophy is the most prestigious snake boat race competition in Kerala. Snake boats are called as Chundan Vallam in Kerala. The Nehru Trophy boat race marks the launching of Onam festivities in Kerala.

The first Nehru Trophy Boat Race was held in 1952 to honour then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. In that boat race Nadubhagam Chundan stood first. Panditji was so fascinated and thrilled by the boat race. After returning to Delhi in December 1952, Nehru donated a Silver Trophy, which is a replica of a snake boat placed on a wooden abacus.The trophy bears the following inscription above his signature "To the winners of the boat race which is a unique feature of community life in Travancore Cochin. ". This trophy later came to be known as Nehru Trophy, and in fond memory of great Panditji, the people of Alappuzha, Venice of East,in Kerala celebrate the Nehru Trophy Boat Race every year.
In 2014,  Kainakary United Boat Club's Champakkulam Chundan won the 62nd Nehru Trophy Boat Race. In its history of boat race spanning from 1952 to 2015,  Karichal Chundan stand first with the highest number of victories (13 times), followed by Champakulam (10 times.

Jawahar Thayankari debuted in 1977 and won their first victory in the same year. They also won it 1978,1985 and 2010. They came second in the Nehru trophy boat race in 2013.

In addition to snake boat race, there are various categories for Nehru trophy boat race including Churulan Vallam, Iruttukuthy Vallam, Odi Vallam, Veppu Vallam (Vaipu Vallam), Vadakkanody Vallam , Kochu Vallam etc .
