Malayalam Channel Asianet has announced a new music reality show ' Asianet Super Voice' . The promos of the new show are out . Asianet's Idea Star Singer was one of the most successful music show on Malayalam Television. However, the success of first few seasons were not sustained in the later seasons and the show ended as Sunfeast Delishus Star Singer Season 7 in 2014. Now after a break, Asianet is coming with a new show.  Amrita TV's  super star junior season 5 is the only music competition show available now Malayalam miniscreen.

Actress Priyamani got engaged to  boyfriend Mustufa Raj on Friday, May 27, 2016. The engagement function was a private event attended by their close family members and friends. The engagement ceremony was held  at Priyamani's residence in Banashankari, Bengaluru.

Mustafa Raj is a  mumbai based busnessman. It was reported that the couple met during Indian Premiere League (IPL) a few years ago. Since then they are friends and eventually became lovers. They took their relationship to the next level with the blessings of the family members and by the official engagement. It is reported that their marriage will took place by the end of this year. The details of the marriage ceremony and reception will be announced later.

In an earlier interview given to the times of India, Priyamani revealed her love story and said it was she who proposed to him as she liked him as person of sense of humor and  straightforwardness. Her family didnt had any issue accepting him even though he belongs to a different religion.

She is also the permanent judge of dance reality show D3 (D4dance Season 3) on Malayalam Channel Mazhavil Manorama.  It was in the second season of D4Dance (D2) she announced her love for Mustafa Raj and introduced him to the viewes of the channel. Actor Kochaniyan (R. Govinda Pillai) passed away

Malayalam film and television serial actor Kochaniyan (R. Govinda Pillai) passed away on Tuesday morning, 17 May 2016  at a private hospital in Kollam. He was 72. He was diagnosed with cancer and was under medical treatment for some time. However, his condition worsened and was admitted to the hospital. His funeral will be held on the grounds of his house in Aythil on 18 May 2016. He is survived by his wife G Nalinambika and two daughters, Swapna & Pinki (son in laws are Shaym P Nair and G.S Narayanan)


Kochaniyan, after completing his graduation from Fathima matha College, joined Indian Railways in Bangalore and worked there 1972. He later served as the senior manager of the Kollam District Cooperative Bank. He has pursued his acting career even while on service.

Kochaniyan has more than 20 years experience as theatre artist. He has acted in 25 movies and nearly 100 television serials. He has debuted as a theatre artist through Assisi Arts Club and Kollam Mela. His role in Kalidasa Kala Kendram's  drama Sati directed by O. Madhavan, gave him much awaited break in his acting career.

He later debuted as a television actor through the popular Malayalam television serial, Arabikkadalinte Rani on Doordarshan. It was soon followed by his film debut in Balachandra Menon’s Sesham Kazhcvhayil. He also acted in Mr. Menon’s April 18 and Prashanam Gurutharam . In addition to this he has acted in Samooham, Pakshe, CBI Diary Kurippu, Cheppadi Vidya, Nerariyan CBI ,  among many others

Kochaniyan's hit serials include Vamsham, Sthree, Murapennu, Snehatheeram, Black and White, Maunameghangal, Hamsageetham,Vadhu, among many others . His last serial was 7 Rathrikal on Asianet, which he couldn't complete due to health issues.
