Asianet HD and Mazhavil Manorama HD - high definition Malayalam Channels launched

Malayalam Channels Asianet and Mazhavil Manorama launched new full HD channels.

Asianet lauched the first  Malayalam High definition  (HD) TV channel on 13th August 2015 at 6:00 PM. They offer high definition visual quality and Dolby 5.1 sound quality to enhance the viewing experience of their audiences. This full HD channel is now available with Tata Sky and will soon become available at other cable and DTH Service providers

Mazhavil Manorama launched their high definition channel on 14 August 2015. This channel launched on 31 October 2011 was already telecasting programs shot in HD cameras. They became very popular and reached top 2 position in BARC ratings in shorter time span.

In general, HD channels telecast the same programs of the main SD channels, but in high definition. Soon other malayalam channels like Surya will launch HD channels.

How to watch high definition (HD) Malayalam Channels.

The first and most important requirement to watch HD channel is a television set that supports this format. Most of current LED TV has with feature. It is not available for viewers with normal CRT sets.  You also need set top box (STB) that supports HD reception, which is connected to TV though HDMI cable. Once it is ready, by clicking menu on remote you will be able to see Malayalam channels in both SD and HD format. Click HD channel to enjoy new visual and audio experience.

Actress Muktha to marry Rinku Tomy on 30 August 2015

Actress Muktha Elsa George (Bhanu)is going to marry Rinku Tomy. Rinku Tomy is the younger brother of singer Rimy Tomy. The engagement of Muktha with Rinku will be on August 23, 2015 and the marriage will be held on 30 August 2015 in Edappally St George church in Kochi Kerala.

The marriage news of Muktha came as a surprise. It is reported that Muktha, Rinku and their families were known to each other for a long time. This eventually resulted in this love cum arranged marriage. The marriage will be held with the blessings of both the families. The wedding ceremony will be a simple one.

Actress Muktha to marry Rinku Tomy on 30 August 2015.

Rinku is the son of late Tomy Joseph and Rani from Paala in Kottayam district. He is the younger brother of popular singer and anchor Rimi Tomy. Rinku is currently running an event management company(DNR events) in Kochi

Muktha is the younger daughter of George and Sally. Her sister Doshy George is married and settled. Mutha began her acting career in a very young age with Lal Jose movie Achanurangatha Veedu. Following which she has acted many Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam Movies. She has also become a household name among Tamil audience though her films Thaamirabharani, Azhagar Malai, Sattapadi Kutram etc. Her recent movies are  Tamil movies -Vaaimai, Sagunthalavin Kadhalan, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, Paambhu Sattai and Malayalam film Sukhamayirikkatte. In addition to this she has also established herself as a dancer and runs a beauty parlour in Kochi. She plans to continue her business endeavors and acting career after marriage.

Actress Asin is going to marry Rahul Sharama

It is reported that both Asin and Rahul were dating for the last few years. She met Rahul though his Khiladi  786 co-actor  Akshay Kumar. Akshay and his wife Twinkle were the first brand ambassadors of Micromax and  happens to be one of Rahul Sharma’s best friends. Even though people around her were aware of their relationship, the actress has been tight lipped for few years.

In a recent interview Asin confirmed the marriage news and said,

“I am currently wrapping up all my professional commitments so that I can give more time to my personal life. I had anyways stopped signing new projects two years back itself.”

Even though marriage was decided earlier,  Asin was waiting to complete all of her movie assignments. She stopped signing for new films for the last two years and is likely to quit the movie field to fully concentrate on her family life.

Asin's father Joseph Thottunkal said to the news channel that marriage of Asin with Rahul Sharama will be held on January 23, 2015.

Actress Asin is from Cochin in Kerala. Her father Joseph Thottumkal managed several businesses. Her mother Seline Thottumkal was a doctor.She debuted in a Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001, at the age of 15. It was followed by M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi ) in both Tamil and Teligu languages. The film which provided the breakthrough for Asin was Ghajini with actor Surya. This movie was remade into Hindi movie with same name with Amir Khan in the lead role. Following its success she acted in many Hindi movie. So far, she has acted in  25 movies, most of them were box office hits making her one of the most successful actress in India. Her last movie All is well  with Abhishek Bachan is going to be released soon.

Who is Rahul Sharama?
Asin's fiancee Rahul Sharma co-founded Micromax in 2000, and also founded the ‘Yu’ brand in India known for its Xiaomi-like online model. At present, the company is operated from its headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana and  Rahul Sharma currently serves as the CEO of Micromax Informatics. He was also among the only four Indians in Fortune Magazine’s Global Power List of 2014- Fortune’s ’40 under 40’ list of 2014. Rahul Sharma was awarded the prestigious ‘GQ Man of the Year (Excellence in Business)’ in 2013.

Billionaire Rahul Sharma originally had middle class back ground. His parents were teachers and retired as school principals. He has two elder sisters, both are married and settled. Sharma holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nagpur and a Bachelor in Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He stays with his parents in a farm house near Haryana.

The marriage of Asin with Rahul Sharma came as a surprise to everyone.In an interview given to a top news paper she opened up for the first time on her relationship. Asin says 'Rahul and I have been together for almost four years. I will get married by the end of the year'.

On a question on how she met Rahul, she said that her story is eerily similar to the story of my film Ghajini. 'Rahul and I first met at the private airport of Mumbai as I was going to another country for work with Akshay Kumar for the promotions of Housefull 2. He was very simple and down-to-earth and that quality stuck with me.' It was his co-star Akshay kumar who was instrumental in paving a way to both of them. He introduced her to Rahul and told her that 'I think you two will be good for each other'. Asin thought is as a joke as 'Akshay is family for us and somehow, has a good sense of people so he sensed that similarity between Rahul and me'.

Asin is quoted as saying that 'after our first meeting and having spoken over phone a few times Rahul came and met my parents and expressed his intention to them'. Asin found that extremely gentlemanly and with her parents permission they started to get to know each other'.

She is now very much in love and is impressed with Rahul. She is praising him throughout the interview as 'he is very selfless and outstandingly secure and I feel that's pure love, the rest is selfishness. He has no 'I' in him, it's all about 'You' with him. Throughout the relationship, his sole concern is my happiness.'He has clarity of thought, vision and an opinion. His decisions are thought of but he arrives at them quickly. Also, he is very family oriented with strong roots'.

On a question on whether she will continue acting post marriage she said 'I have been working from the age of 14 and as of now, I am not taking up anything and will definitely take a break from films'

Kerala State Film Awards 2015 Winners list| Ottal- Best Film; Sanalkumar Sasidharan-Best Director

Winners of Kerala State Film Awards 2015 are given below. Kerala State Film Awards for the films released in 2014 was announced on Monday 10 August 2015. The  awards were selected based on a list of 70 Malayalam films selected by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. Minister Thriruvanjoor Radhakrishnan announced the winners in the press meet, which was held in Trivandrum.

Jayaraj's Ottal won the best film Award. Best actor award was shared by Nivin Pauly and Sudev Nair. Nazriya Nazim received best actress award for her performance in Om Shanti Osana and Bangalore Days.

John Paul was the chairman of 10-member jury including directors Bhadran Mattel, Madhupal and Balukiriyath, sound recordist Renjith, cameraman Sunny Joseph, carnatic voclaist Omanakutty and producer M. Hamsa. The jury for writings on cinema was chaired by Satheesh Babu Payyannur. Raja Narayanan and A Padmanabhan were the other members of the panel.
