CERA Big Malayalam Music Awards 2013 -Winners List | Telecast on May 4, 2014 by Asianet


Big Malayalam Music Awards (BMMA) is to honour singers and musicians in the malayalam music world. The first edition of the award  was launched in November 2013 . 92.7 BIG FM, India’s largest and No. 1 radio network and CERA announced the launch of the CERA BIG Malayalam Music Awards 2013 powered by United India Insurance.

It is a popular music award where the four to five shortlisted nominations will be open to online voting and winners will be declared based on the votes.

 The music awards consists of 20 nomination categories, which will includes Best Singer (Male), Best Singer (Female), Best Music Director, Best Lyricist, Best Duet Song, Best Melody Song of the year, Best Singer Among Actors and Best Melody Album Song , best debutant performers etc.

 92.7 BIG FM hosted the first ever exclusive Malayalam Music awards in Kerala in January 3 at Al Saj Convention Centre. The winners were announced in a show on 4 January 2014.


K.S.Chitra and Vijya Yesudas won the best singer award in female and Male category.

Adish Krishna is the title winner of Kutty Patturumal on Kairali TV. He won the First prize among the 6 finalist of the competition. The details are given below.

The grand finale of Kutty Patturumal on Kairali TV was held on 26th April 2014 at Kannur Muncipal Stadium , Kerala.

Patturumal is music talent search and reality competition show on Kairali TV for Mappila pattukkal or Muslim songs. Mappila Paattu or Mappila Song is a genre of Muslim folklore rendered in colloquial dialect, which is very popular in the Northern malabar region of Kerala. The songs use words from different languages which include hindi, persian, urdu etc aprt from malayalam and arabic.

 Kutti Patturumal, Patturumal Junior is the utimate mappilappatu show for kids in the age group 8-15 years.

Actress Sharanya , from Kannur, started her career as an actress in Sooryodayam serial in  Dooradarshan in 2006 directed by Balachandra Menon . It is  followed by Serials like  Manthrakodi , Rehasyam , Avakashikal, Kootukari , Harichandanam...etc

She also acted in Daivam Thanta veedu serial, tamil version of Chandanamazha and telugu serial - Swathi .

Actress Saranya is a cancer survivor. The brain tumour was detected and treated in August 2012. She faced the treatment for Brain Tumor and follow up with courage. Now she is back to her acting career.

Actress Amala Paul to marry Director Vijay on 12 June 2014

Actress Amala Paul and Director A.L Vijay is going to marry soon. This news is confirmed by Annice Paul, the mother of Actress Amala Paul.

Even though there were gossips in the media , director Vijay and Amala Paul recently only opened up on their relationship status to the media and confirmed that they had been in love for a long time .

 The marriage will be taking place in Chennai on 12th of June , 2014. The wedding will be followed by a celebrity style reception in Chennai.

 The engagement ceremony will took place in Kochi, Amala's home town , on June 7, 2014.

Amala was the heroine of Vijay directed movies Thalaivaa and Deiva Thirumagal. Amala Paul recently confirmed the news and said, “I wish to announce to my media friends about my future plans with director Vijay once he arrives from his trip abroad. Until then I request the media to wait for authenticated reports on me, director Vijay and our future.”


Amala Pual is the daughter of Paul Varghese and Annice Paul, from Ernakulam. She has older brother Abhijith. Amala's Mother in an interview revealed that she came to know about Vijay's-Amala relationship just 4 months back and even opposed the love in the beginning as Amala is very young. But when they realised that both of them are pretty serious about the affair, the whole family supported it.

Director Vijay confirmed the news by releasing a statement as follows..

Kerala State Film Awards 2014 -Winners List | Shyamaprasad Best Director ;Crime no 89 Best Film

Kerala State Film Awards for the films released in 2013 will be anounsed on 19 April 2014. Bharathiraja is the Jury Chairman. The other jury members include Surya Krishnamurthy, Alappey Ranganath, Director Harikumar, Editor B Lenin, Anandakuttan and actress Jalaja. Total of 85 films were selected for the Kerala State Award . The screening of the films were done in Chithranjali Studio in Trivandrum.

National Award winning Actor Suraj Venjarmoodu , Jayaram, Fahad Fazil were rumoured to be in the final round for Best Actor award.

But  Fahad Fazil (North 24 Kaatham) and Lal (Zachariyayude Garbhinikal) were declared the best actor award in the Krala state awards.
