Asianet Film Awards 2016: The 18th Asianet Film Awards will be aired on on 20th and 21st February 2016 (Saturday and Sunday) from 7.00 P.M onwards

Asianet 2016 film awards were distributed in a star studded and glittering function held recently at Adlux Convention Centre , Angamali ,Cochin.  The winners of Asianet Film Awards 2016 include Nedumudi Venu ( Best actor in negative role), Vijay Yesudas ( best male singer) , Vijayalakshmi (best female singer), Lena (best character artiste-female), Biju Menon (best character artiste-male), Aju Varghese (best actor in a comic role)). Rafeeq Ahammed (lyricist ), Rajesh Murukesan (music director), Meenakshi (child artiste), R.S.Vimal ( Script Writer ), Jomon T John (cameraman ), debut artiste Deepti Sati , Kalpana ( best supporting actress) , Saikumar( best supporting actor ) , Mahesh Narayanan ( best editor), Vineeth Sreenivasan ( Performer of the year ),Innocent ( Multifceted personality of the year ) and Sai pallavi & Vijayaraghavan (Special Jury awards).

The 18th season of Asianet Film Awards sponsored by Nirapara  was held on 7th February 2016 . The function was held at at Adlux Convention Centre , Angamali ,Cochin. This much awaited event was visual treat to the viewers with stars adding glamour and glitz along with wonderful performance on stage by celebrities.

Best Movie, actor & actress- Asianet Film Awards 2016

These awards are given every year for artistic and technical excellence on  malaylam movies. Awards are presented in nearly 32 categories every year at the Asianet film awards. Meera Anil, govind Padmasoorya , Anjana Nair and Gayathri Suresh were the anchors of the award show.

The popular malayalam movie Ennu Ninte Moideen bagged most of the awards including Best Actor, Best Actress , Best script writer and Best Movie .Actor Mammootty and singer K.J Yesudas were awarded Lifetime Achievement Award while Actor Mohanlal earned the Millenium Star Award.   Alphonse Puthran won the award for the best director for the movie  Premam . Chechiyamma- New Serial on Surya TV from 15th February 2016

Chechiyamma is a new serial on Malayalam channel Surya TV. The new serial will be launched on February 15, 2015, Monday at  9.00 PM.  The new family drama  will be telecasted every Monday to Friday at 9.00 PM

The new malayalam serial Chechiamma is directed by A.M Nazeer. This is his serial after hit serial, Dathuputhri on Mazhavil Manorama and  Pattu Sari on Surya TV.  The new serial tells the story of Lekshmi kutty Teacher and her family. Actress Seetha is playing the title role of Chechiamma in this new tele series. We will soon update the cast and crew , actors and actress details

 In addition to this Surya TV is also currently showing  family serials Punarjani and  Bhagyalekshmi . Three new serials My Marumakan , Manassariyathe and Sthreethwam were launched in the last three months. The new serial will replace Chiriyans comedy serial.

Seethayin Ramanis the dubbed version of Siya Ke Ram, an epic TV series currently being aired on Star Plus TV since 4 January 2015. This serial is directed by Nikhil Sinha under the banner of Triangle Films. Ramayana,the epic written by Valmiki, is the story of Rama, the king of Ayodhya.
