65th National Film Awards 2018 : winners list

The winners of 65th National Film Awards were announced on Friday, 13 April by a 10-member jury headed by renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.inod Khanna was posthumously given the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema, late actress Sridevi won the Best Actress award for her performance in MOM. Actor Riddhi Sen won the Best Actor award for Bengali film Nagarkirtan.

Village Rockstars (Assamese) won Best Feature film award while Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which had turned out to be the biggest hit at the domestic box-office, won the award for Best Popular Film .Bhayanakam directed by Jayaraj (Malayalam) won the award for best director. the film is in  the 'navarasa' seriesbased on  "Kayar" written by the late writer Thakazhi Sivasankarapillai.

Amit Masurkar’s Newton, which was sent as India’s official entry to the Oscars, was named the Best Hindi film. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum by Dileesh Pothen won the award for best Malayalam film . Fahad fazil won Best Supporting Actor for this movie and Sajeev Pazhoor won the award for the Best Screenplay. Actress Parvathy received special mention for her performance in Take off. ake Off also won the award for the Best Production Design. Malayalam Film, Bhayanakam won the awards for Best Direction (Jayaraj), Best Adaptive Screenplay (Jayaraj.) and best cinematography (Nikhil S Praveen)

Singer KJ Yesudas won the award for Best Playback Singer Male for Poyi Maranjakaalam from Viswasapoorvam Mansoor and Shashaa Tirupati won the award for Best Playback Female for Vaan Varuvaan from Kaatru Veliyidai. AR Rahman won the award for Best Music Direction and Songs for Kaatru Veliyidai. The complete list of winners of the 65th National Film Awards 2018 are given below.
