Actor Kalasala Babu passed away

Malayalam Actor Kalasala Babu -known for his roles in Malayalam Films, Television Serials and drama -passed away at the age of 68y on 13th May 2018 Night in Ernakulam. He was suffering from heart-related problems and was under treatment for the past three months. His health condition deteriorated after he reportedly suffered a stroke during an emergency surgery. He breathed his last on Sunday due to cerebral hemorrhage. He is survived by his wife Lalitha and children, Sreedevi who resides in the US and Viswanthan who resides in Ireland.

Kalasala Babu is the son of Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and Kalamandalam Kalyanikutty Amma-renowned Mohiniyattam danseuse. He is active part of entetainement industry for more than 45 years. He debuted as a drama actor through plays ('Manishada' , Drishyanjali') mostly produced by Kalidasa Kala Kendram. He debuted as a film actor in 1977, in Inayethedi, the first venture of John Paul, George Kitho, Kaloor Dennis and Antony Eastman as hero of Silk Smitha, but the film was a flop. As he was not getting good response in films, he launched his own drama troupe called Kalasala in Tripunithura, which had artistes such as Thilakan and Surasu among others. This is how he got the name 'Kalasala Babu'.  The theater group was active for more than 10 years.

He started his television career through a telefilm 'Kala' made for Doordarshan in the year 1999. He essayed important roles in as many as 28 mega serials. His television serials include Kadamattath Kathanar,Swamy ayyapan,Lipstick,,Police Story, Kudumbayogam Mattoruval, Devimahatmyam, Amma, Ramayanam, Vallarpadathamma,Indira,Sooryakaladi,Parassini shri Muthappan,Sathyam Shivam Sundaram Jagratha,etc

He came back to silver screen in 2003 through  Kasthooriman. Directed by Lohithadas, the film made him a popular choice to play the villain role. Following which he acted in more than 100 films, mostly in negative or villain or elderly roles. His recent movies include Kalipp (2018),Queen (2018), Sunday Holiday (2017) etc. He has acted with almost all leading actors of malayalam movie industry.

Career

Sreeram started his career as an assistant art director with Sunil Babu in Tamil film Ghajini and Villu while studying for his engineering degree. That is when he got a chance to debut in malayalm movie industry through Vineeth Sreenivasans directorial debut movie 'Malarvadi arts club' (2010) along with Nivin Pauly. It was followed by 'Thattathin Marayathu'. These two movies were super hits. He is has worked in many Tamil and Kannada movies as assistant art director before staring in Malayalam Films. 

He started as a television actor through Amrita TV program 'Just Fun Chumma' as the character Anand. This series directed by Pramod Mohan paved his way to a full time role in the Shyamaprasad movie Artist starring Fahadh Fazil and Ann Augustine in lead roles. His first musical album Ninayathe sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan directed by Ganesh Raj was released which was well received by music lovers.

Later he became part of many short films and Albums ( Just Married by Sajan Joseph, Lets take a break by Pramod Mohan, Aliveni by Jairam Ramachandran,Rollie by Abhay Stephen ,Across the Ocean by Uma Kumarapuram -Nicole Donadio, Padippura by Rajeesh Raj, Nuzhainthaley by Ganesh Raj etc). He also did a TV commercial with the legendary actor Mohanlal for Kannan Devan tea. He is now acting in Orayiram Kinakalal-Malayalam debut movie of Pramod Mohan, Gambinos by Gireesh Panicker . He will also be part of upcoming Anjali Menon film starring Prithviraj and Nazriya.

Sreeram Ramachandran  as Jeeva in Kasthooriman Serial on Asianet

Sreeram debuted as the hero of mega serial through Asainet Malayalam Serial Kasthooriman directed by Sunil Karyatukara.  It was launched on 11th December 2017. Sreeram gives life to Jeeva, a character with negative shades, someone who is slightly arrogant and has no qualms about playing with the emotions of a girl he marries. His effortless portrayal of that character help him to became very popular among malayali audience.

Personal life and family

Sreeram Ramachandran hails from Kozhikode, Kerala. His father Pala CK Ramachandran is an accomplished senior carnatic musician and also the primary disciple of Sri.Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. Sreeram did his schooling from Chinmaya Vidyalaya Kozhikode and pursued engineering degree in electronics from AWH Engineering College, Kozhikode. His brother Jayaram Ramachandran is a graphics designer and animator in the film industry.  Sreeram is now settled in Kochi with his wife Vanditha and their daughter.

Keerthana Podhuval -Actress | Mojitha in Bharya Serial on Asianet

Keerthana Podhuval (Keerthana Podwal or also known as Geerthana) is the new actress in Bharaya serial on Asianet playing the character in CI Mojitha's. She has replaced Aishwary Mithun Koroth in this role. Aishwary left the serial due to family reasons. She is expecting a baby and is going to take a break from entertainment industry.

Keerthana Podwal  a model and actress known for her work in Kannada and Telugu Movies. She has also acted in Tamil Television Serials. Keerthana made her acting debut in the Kannada film "Anju Manju Love Story" along with Dilip Pai, directed by AT Raveesh. Following this she has appeared in some well known films such as  Anju Manju Love Story, Madhura Swapna and Rudra IPS etc . She also acted with popular actors like Pradeep Benetto Ryan, Avinash, Raja and Naveen. Keerthana was noted for roles in films like "Siliconn City" along with Srinagar Kitty, Sadhu Kokila and Kavya Shetty. Keerthana Podhuval  was born on 6th November. She hails from Kanoor in Kerala and currently settled in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Pooja Sharma already established herself model and actor. Pooja was born on 12 July 1989 in Delhi, India. She did her graduation (B.Com.) from University of Delhi, New Delhi. She was always interested in acting and performing arts more than modeling. During her college days, she was selected for a sports-based talk show in Doordarshan India. So,after completing her studies, she started working as a model and walked the ramp during various events. She also hosted some famous shows that aired on DD National and on Zoom. Rebecca started her career as a child model for a jewelry advertisement while studying in fourth standard. In this movie she played the daughter of Jayaram’s brother. Her performance as film actress was noted though  the ‘Minnaminungu The Fire Fly (2017) directed by Anil Thomas and written by Manoj Ramsingh . In Minna miungu Rebecca played a character Charu, the daughter of a widow characterized by national award winner Surabhi Lakshmi. Rebecca Santhosh (19 yrs)  hails from Thrissur, Kerala. Her father Santhosh is a businessman and mother a housewife. After completing her  her schooling at Chaldean Syrian Higher Secondary School (CSHSS) Thrissur, Kerala, she is pursuing Bachelor of Management Studies at Saint Theresa’s College in Ernakulam. Like her grand father who was a theatre artiste, Rebecca would like to be part of theatre productions as acting live on stage helps an actor.  In fact, Rebecca started acting   in a drama while she was in fifth standard, which paved way for her acting.  She like to become a cinematographer after completing her graduation. She was active during the school youth festivals and participated in orchestra, kathaprasangam, music and all sorts of cultural events. She is very passionate about acting, also love trekking and riding bikes.
