Idea star singer fame Manjusha Mohandas (26) passed away on August 2, 2018 (Thrusday). She had met with an accident last week.
According to reports, Manjusha and her friend Anjana were travelling in a two-wheeler when a van plying on wrong side of the road rammed into them. The incident took place on MC Road in Thanipuzha, Angamaly, on 27 July. The two were admitted to a private hospital in Angamaly. The two of them were students at Sree Sakaracharya University of Sanskrit in Kalady. Following the accident, she and her friend were admitted to a private hospital in Angamaly. After viewing that her condition was critical she was shifted to a private hospital in Kochi. Manjusha had underwent treatment for nearly a week before she succumbed to her injuries.
Manjusha was a participant in the 2009 season of the popular music show Idea Star Singer produced by Asianet. She had joined the reality in 2009 which was judged by S.P.Balasubramanyam, M.G.Sreekumar, K.S. Chithra and Sarath. She had impressed the audience and judges alike with her rendition of several songs. Joby John was the winner of Ideas Star singer Season 9 . After the competition of the show, Manjusha got married and her wedding video went viral instantly.
Manjusha has acted in Malayalam movies as a child artist. She played the younger role of the character portrayed by actress Kaveri' in the Malayalam movie Vasanthiyum Lekshmiyum Njanum' starring Kalabhavan Mani in the lead role. She was also a trained classical dancer.
Manjusha was a second year MA student of dance research at the university. She is survived by her husband Priyadarshan and their daughter.
