61st National Film Award Winners List: Suraj Venjaramood Wins Best Actor Award for his role in Perariyathavar

National Films Awards is the most prestigious award in India which everyone in the film world wants to win at least once in their life time.An 11-member jury, headed by noted directed Saeed Akhtar Mirza announced the awards for 2014.

Ship Of Theseus is awarded the best feature Film and Best director is Hansal Mehta for Shahid

Malayalam Actor Suraj Venjaramood will share the award from best actor with Rajkumar Rao for thri performance Malayalam film "Perariyathavar" and in Hindi film "Shahid" , respectively in the 61st National Film Awards, 2014.

 In Perariyathavar, directed by Dr Biju, Suraj played the role of a sweeper in the film . According to jury Suraj's "dignified and quiet" portrayal of a man on the lower margins of the society, has been applauded as the actor "soulfully brought out (the character) with subtle body language and eyes which transcend words"

He is the second comedian from malayalam who wins Best Actor award  in the National Film Awards. Earlier Salim Kumar won the award for his role in Adaminte Makan.
